Search

The search functionality is a powerful feature on Common that takes advantage of all of the content every user & community has created on the platform. Search can be used in two ways:

1. Community search: searching for content / users in a specific community

2. Global search: searching for communities, users, and content across the entire platform

To search within a community, navigate to the community you'd like to search within. Next type what you are looking for within the search bar. You will know you are searching within the community when a tag with the community name appears within the search bar.

Global search is useful for discovering communities on Common, finding specific users, and getting inspiration for new initiatives. To do a global search, simply navigate to any explore page or remove the community tag when searching within a community. Global search is particularly powerful for getting content inspiration. Type in 'grant program' within the global search to see for yourself! Every grant program hosted on Common will appear in your search.
